Configuring Categories and Subcategories

Product Categories and Subcategories allow for a clear and detailed structuring of products, facilitating quick access to information and optimizing the inventory management process.

Product Category represents a main group under which similar products are found in terms of type or use.

Product Subcategories are divisions of these main categories, providing more detailed segmentation.

Here are some examples for various industries:

In advertising production, a category such as "Display Systems" can have subcategories like "Light Box", "Sampling Table" and "Roll-ups", which helps manage each type of product according to specifications. In furniture production, a "Finished Product" category could include subcategories such as "Cabinets", "Tables" and "Chairs", each representing a range of finished products. Another useful category could be "Metallurgical Products", with subcategories like "Sheet Metal", "Screws" and "Hardware", essential for furniture assembly. In accounting, a category such as "Accounting Services" could include subcategories such as "VAT Calculation", "Balance Sheet Preparation" and "Intrastat Declaration", offering a clear segmentation of the types of services offered to clients.

Categories and subcategories help users manage large volumes of information more easily. They allow for faster filtering and searching of necessary data.

These can be used both for filtering on the Products page, as well as on the Inventory page, providing a clear and easy-to-navigate organization. Furthermore, the structure of categories and subcategories will be of great help in generating reports, providing clear data segmentation.

To manage categories and subcategories in iflows, you need to access the Settings – Products section, where you will find the "Categories" and "Subcategories" tabs. Here, you can add new categories and subcategories, edit existing ones to reflect changes in the portfolio, or delete them when they are no longer relevant.

Another way to quickly add categories and subcategories is directly from the product page. When you start typing a word that is not in the existing dropdown list, the platform will offer an insert button for that category or subcategory, making the update process much faster and more intuitive. This flexible system ensures simple and efficient management of categories and subcategories in iflows, both through settings and in real-time from the product pages.

Additionally, products can be imported into the system using import files. If the import file contains categories and subcategories that have not been previously entered into the iflows platform, you don't have to worry, as they will be automatically created based on the information in the file. This functionality ensures fast and efficient data integration without the need to manually add categories and subcategories before importing.

Thank you!
