1. In short
From an opportunity page you can now send an e-mail to the client, through the same Send E-mail window used for quotes, orders and invoices. The e-mail uses a template from the new Opportunity template section, with dedicated variables (number, date, total, currency, validity), it is tracked (sending and opening) and it appears in the opportunity history. The feature is used by sales teams, during the opportunity qualification stage.

2. Where to find it
- → the Actions column → the Send E-mail button (envelope icon)
- the opportunity details page → Actions → Send E-mail
- → the Section field → the Opportunity option; the Predefined tab → the Send opportunity template
- → the Default E-mail Template field
3. Before you start
- For the Send E-mail button (in the list and on the details page) you need the permission to view opportunities or an administrator account. The button does not appear for client-type users.
- The opportunity's client must have the Main E-mail field filled in (or at least one contact person with an e-mail), otherwise the recipient list has nothing to propose.
- You do not need a template of your own: if nothing else is set, the system template Send opportunity is used.
4. Sending an e-mail from an opportunity
Step 1. Open and find the opportunity you need (for example opportunity #1042, client Client Demo SRL).
Step 2. Click the Send E-mail button (envelope icon) in the Actions column of the opportunity row. The Send E-mail window opens.

The opportunity list, the row of opportunity #1042 (Client Demo SRL, 1,250.00 EUR); in the Actions column, the Send E-mail button (envelope icon) highlighted.
Note: the same window also opens from the opportunity details page, through .
Step 3. Check the fields in the window. The template, the recipient and the subject are pre-filled; the Message area shows the entire body of the e-mail, editable for the current sending.
| Field | What you fill in | Required |
|---|---|---|
| Template | A template from the Opportunity section (plus the “E-mail Operation from Flow” templates, which have no section). It is preselected in this order: the template marked as default for the current employee on the Opportunity section; the template from ; failing those, the system template Send opportunity. Changing the template recalculates the Subject and the Message area. | Yes |
| Recipients | The opportunity's client (the address in the Main E-mail field) and their contact persons who have an e-mail, in the Contact Persons group, plus the employees who have an e-mail, in the Employees group. The first entry is preselected. With Add you can enter up to 10 addresses. | Yes |
| Subject | Pre-filled from the template; for the system template: “Opportunity #1042”. | Yes |
| Message | The text inserted into the template in place of the {{information}} variable. The system template has the Editable text on sending option turned on, so the window shows the entire body of the e-mail, editable for the current sending only. If the chosen template does not contain the variable and has no editable text, the area is unavailable and the warning “The Message area is unavailable. The chosen template does not contain the {{information}} variable field.” appears. | No |
| Attach Files | A toggle, off by default. Once on, it allows uploading up to 20 files of up to 100 MB each (the usual document, image, archive and video formats). | No |
Warning: when sending from an opportunity no PDF of the opportunity is generated or attached — opportunities have no PDF template and the quote or order template is not reused. The only possible attachments are the files uploaded manually.
Step 4. If you want to add a second recipient, click Add and choose the contact person (for example Ion Popescu, purchasing@clientdemo.com).
Step 5. Click Send. One e-mail is sent per recipient, with open tracking; the sender is the user who sends it.
Note: sending does not change the opportunity status and does not create a note on the client.
5. Checking the history and the Sent column
Step 1. Open the details page of opportunity #1042. Below the details table, every e-mail sent appears as a row “Email — sent by <name> <date and time> to <address>”, completed with “opened <date and time>” once the recipient has opened the message.

The history on the page of opportunity #1042: the Created row, then two Email rows — one with the “opened” mention, the second without.
Step 2. Go back to and open .
Step 3. Turn on the Sent column (off by default). In the list, the opportunities with at least one e-mail sent show a green check with the tooltip “Email: <date and time>”; the others show a grey X.

The opportunity list with the Sent column highlighted: a check with the tooltip “Email: 9 Sep 2026, 11:02” on opportunity #1042 and an X on a row with no e-mail.
Note: the opportunities that already had tracked e-mails were marked retroactively.
6. Creating your own template for the Opportunity section
Step 1. Open and click the Predefined tab. This is where the system template Send opportunity sits (subject “Opportunity #{{opportunity_number}}”, editable text on sending), which you can use as a model.

Step 2. Create a new e-mail template (or edit an existing one), as usual.
Step 3. In the Section field choose the new Opportunity option. Below the field, the variables specific to the section appear: Opportunity Number, Opportunity Date, Opportunity Total (amount with currency), Opportunity Currency, Opportunity Validity, alongside the existing Client Name variable.

The e-mail template form with the Section field set to “Opportunity” and the Variables area.
Step 4. Fill in the template content using the variables and, if you want the text to be editable on every sending, include the {{information}} variable or turn on the Editable text on sending toggle.
Step 5. If you want the template to be proposed automatically to a certain employee, select them in the Employees field of the template; this takes priority over the general setting in .
Step 6. Save the template. From now on it appears in the Template list of the Send E-mail window opened from an opportunity.
7. Setting the default template
Step 1. Open and click the Opportunities tab. The tab has two sub-tabs: General (new, the default one) and Tags.
Step 2. In the General sub-tab, choose in the Default E-mail Template field the template that will be proposed when the sending window opens.

→ the Opportunities tab → the General sub-tab, with the Default E-mail Template field (“Send opportunity”) and the Save button.
Step 3. Click Save.
Note: if the chosen template is archived later, the setting is emptied automatically. A template marked as default for an employee (the Employees field of the template) takes priority over this setting.
8. What you see afterwards
- On the opportunity details page: one row “Email — sent by … to …” for every e-mail, completed with “opened …” once the recipient has opened the message.
